WARRANTY
Freedom Outboard Motor 5 Year Limited Warranty
At Freedom Outboard, we stand behind every motor and Jack Plate we build — because we built it to last. Backed by years of rigorous engineering, extensive R&D, and a patented design unlike anything else on the water, our outboard motors and Jack Plates are purpose-built to perform where other traditional outboards can’t. That’s why we’re proud to offer a full 5-year “Personal Use” limited warranty, 2-year “Commercial Use” limited warranty on all Freedom Motors and a 2-year “Personal and Commercial” limited warranty on every Freedom Jack Plate that leaves our facility. This level of coverage reflects not just our commitment to quality — but our confidence in the all-terrain, closed-loop cooling technology we’ve pioneered. We believe in transparency, so you’re never left guessing. Let’s break it down.
WHAT IS COVERED
Freedom Outboard proudly warrants each motor with up to 5 years of coverage —because durability should never be in question when you’re running our machines. Our warranty is broken down by the core components of your motor to give you the confidence and clarity you deserve:
5 Years on the Powerhead – The heart of your Freedom Outboard is protected against defects in materials and workmanship for a full five years from the date of purchase.
3 Years on the Closed-Loop Cooling System – Our patented cooling technology is covered for three years, ensuring reliable performance through mud, vegetation, salt, and sand.
2 Years on the Drivetrain & Lower Unit – Everything from the prop shaft to the gearing is covered for two years, giving you peace of mind from transom to tail.
Freedom Jack Plates
2 Years on all Freedom Fabricated Parts – This design is executed for durability and added confidence when traveling through harsher environments adding an extra layer of protection to your Freedom.
1 Year on Jack Plate Actuator – Our actuators have been tested and proven in the field to ensure longevity and consistent operation of your Jack Plate.
** Please note – Warranty claims to be submitted with Freedom Outboard will need proof of original purchase. **
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
While Freedom Outboard stands firmly behind our motors, it’s important to understand that certain damage and conditions fall outside the scope of our limited warranty coverage. To keep things transparent and fair, here’s a breakdown of what is not covered under our 5-year warranty program:
Damage due to misuse or neglect – This includes accidents, theft, fire, freezing
from improper storage, or operating the motor outside the intended use outlined in the Owner’s Manual.
Impact damage – Any damage caused by striking submerged objects or running aground is not covered. Bent or broken prop shafts due to improper operation is not covered.
Fuel and fluid-related issues – The use of improper, dirty, or contaminated fuels, fluids, or lubricants can cause damage and is not warrantable.
Unauthorized modifications or repairs – Any alteration, modification, or repair not approved by Freedom Outboard voids the warranty. This also includes the use of non-approved or incompatible parts.
Racing or high-performance use – Use in racing, speed contests, or other extreme conditions is not covered.
Water intrusion – Water entering the engine through the fuel intake, air intake, or exhaust system is not warrantable.
Cosmetic wear and tear – Rust, corrosion, paint fading, or decal peeling caused by climate or environmental conditions is considered normal wear and is not covered.
Improper propeller usage – Using propellers that prevent the engine from operating within its recommended wide-open throttle (WOT) RPM range may lead to issues not covered under warranty.
We design Freedom motors to take on environment’s unseen by traditional outboards — but like any high-performance machine, they must be maintained and used correctly to uphold that performance. Be sure to follow the guidelines in your Owner’s Manual.
